Critical current measurement—Measurement of critical current and its uniformity along the length of 2G-HTS long tapes
This document describes a method of measuring DC critical current and its uniformity along the length of the second generation high temperature superconducting (2G-HTS) long tapes with a length of no less than 10 m (see Chapter 4).
This document is applicable to copper or copper alloy laminated tape with a width of 2 mm to15 mm, a thickness of 0.1 mm to 0.5 mm, a critical current less than 500 A, and an n-value larger than 5. The overcurrent capacity is not less than 1.5 times nominal critical current at liquid nitrogen (LN2) temperature.
This document is not applicable to the 2G-HTS tapes with an insulating layer on surface.
