This standard specifies the technical requirements，testing methods，inspection rules，packaging，signs，transportation，storage of lanthanum metal.
This standard is applicable to lanthanum metal prepared by molten salt electrolysis. Lanthanum metal is mainly used as the important additive or alloying element for special steel，non-ferrous metal alloy and hydrogen storage material.It may also be used as reductant for producing other rare earth metals.
